Chris began his career by winning a highly competitive scholarship to train as a BBC film editor before graduating to work on a variety of prestigious documentaries and dramas. He eventually moved on to directing films, trailers, promotions, and more recently commercials, but continues to edit most of his own work.

He has won many awards, especially for his films, but was also named Best New Commercials Director 2007 for his first foray into commercials. His interpretation of a JWT brief for John West Tuna Light Lunch was judged the overwhelming winner by a panel of agency experts. One agency producer, Amanda Lowit, noted that Chris had "told the story simply with a locked off shot, good comic timing, good casting and direction of performance, added small details to the comedy of the performance that augmented the basic idea, and the quality of the special effects ... were excellent." Paul Baker of McCann Erickson added simply "he just got everything right. But the performances he got from the actors was the deciding factor for me." (The Drum - Vol.28 No.12)

Not too much of a surprise that Chris was highly commended for bringing out the best in the performances, as he had previously studied acting on a short course at the highly prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and had even performed in various films and stage plays. In fact his stunning performance in The English Patient helped win the film an unprecedented 9 OscarsĀ®, although blink and you might miss him! More recently he has also completed a variety of creative writing courses on his way to graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Literature. These acquired skills have moulded Chris into an exceptional writer, director, and editor.
